I went to Brimfield for the big flea market this week. My very sweet, long time friend Karen Luisana (antique dealer extrordinare from High Point, NC) was kind enough to offer me a place to stay at a wonderful lake side cottage that she rents near Brimfield. What a treat! This is what it looked like after a long day of shopping in the staggering heat and humidity. A nice pay off...not to mention the great grilled stuffed mushrooms she made and the strawberry drinks that we enjoyed a little later. My barkin' dogs were quickly forgotten!
I was lucky enough to go to Paris last week for a few days. Needless to say I saw a LOT of beautiful, memorable sites...most of them at the flea markets....where mostly I looked instead of buying. I was inspired there by so many unique items, and ingenious displays. One of the most stunning was this display of roses in a shop attached to Hotel Costes, which is a trendy, busy, luxurious hot spot in the heart of Paris (especially in the midst of fashion week....which it was). This shop is brimming with nothing but roses.... the same roses that supply big bouquets in every room of the hotel.
